Earn MileagePlus miles on the Star Alliance network
When you fly on any of the Star Alliance airlines you can earn your miles in MileagePlus. In addition, the flight miles you earn qualify toward elite status in MileagePlus. You earn one Elite Qualifying Mile (EQM) for each flight mile you earn and one Elite Qualifying Segment (EQS) for each segment you fly on qualifying fares.
Follow these tips and you'll be on your way to earning the best rewards MileagePlus has to offer, like award travel and elite status on United and all of the Star Alliance airlines.
Provide your MileagePlus number every time you make a reservation for travel on a Star Alliance airline. When you check in to your flight ask to make sure your MileagePlus number is in your record. Your MileagePlus number should appear on your boarding pass and the flight miles you earn will be automatically posted to your account shortly after your flight.
Save your passenger receipts and boarding passes. If your miles do not get posted into your account, you can go on-line to unitedairlines.co.uk/missingmileagecredit to request your past flight miles. For most of our partners you can request credit for flights up to 12 months after you have flown.
