Star Alliance was the first airline alliance to offer upgrades using frequent flyer miles. Now you can redeem your Mileage Plus miles to upgrade one class of service when traveling on many of our Star Alliance partners.
Requesting an upgrade is easy. Star Alliance Upgrade Awards may be requested by calling United Reservations. Based on availability, the upgrade may be confirmed at the time of request. Your Mileage Plus miles will only be deducted from your account when the upgrade award has been confirmed.
With a Star Alliance Upgrade Award, you can arrive at the airport relaxed and ready to enjoy the benefits of upgrading - from priority check-in to lounge access and a more personal class of service onboard.
