Lufthansa is a founding member of the Star Alliance™. The miles you earn on Lufthansa can be accrued in Mileage Plus. And the flight miles you earn qualify toward elite status. You earn one Elite Qualifying Mile (EQM) for each flight mile you earn and one Elite Qualifying Segment (EQS) for each segment you fly.

For travel on Lufthansa beginning April 1, 2010
When you take any Lufthansa flight worldwide you will earn an additional 50% EQM / EQS bonus for paid tickets in First (F, A) Business (C, D, J, Z) and unrestricted Economy (Y, B) Class.
2 Mileage accrual in T and L class on flights within Europe is only valid when in conjunction with a Lufthansa intercontinental flight. For flights only within Europe on Lufthansa, T and L class will not earn any mileage credit.
If you traveled on Lufthansa before March 31, 2010
Valid for flights on transatlantic flights between the United States and Europe on Lufthansa, you earn an additional 50% EQM / EQS bonus for paid tickets in First (F, A) Business (C, D, J, Z) and unrestricted Economy (Y, B) Class. |

Mileage Plus program match:
As a Mileage Plus elite member, the transatlantic flights on Lufthansa between the United States and Europe earn the elite level mileage bonus (redeemable mileage credit):
- Premier members earn a 25% redeemable mileage credit bonus
- Premier Executives and 1K members earn a 100% redeemable mileage credit bonus
- All elites will receive a 500 mile minimum on all Lufthansa flights
The miles accrued are determined by the operating airline. Please note that the booking class shown on your ticket may differ from the booking class relevant for mileage accrual.
Ensure your Mileage Plus number is in your reservation at check-in. But if you do not receive your miles go to Retro Credit.
